MICROSOFT WORD, VERSIONS 2008 AND 2011 CONVERT FILE TYPE. If your new speller is not working, then you should first verify that it is still enabled. To do that, perform the following steps:
In the "Word" pull-down menu, select "Preferences."
In "Preferences", select "Spelling & Grammar".
In Spelling and Grammar, disable "Suggest from main dictionary only." Enable "Check spelling as you type." Enable "Always suggest corrections." Then click on the "Dictionaries" button.
In "Custom Dictionaries", make sure your new Inductel speller is enabled. If its check mark is gone, place another check mark if necessary, and try again to do a spell check.
If your new Inductel custom dictionary still will not retain its checkmark, then you may have to convert its file type to an acceptable file type. To do that, perform the following steps:
Open your new Inductel custom dictionary file using Microsoft Word. Your Inductel custom dictionary will be located on your computer at Macintosh HD\Users\Shared\Inductel\KAS\spellers\WordMacXSrc.
If Word asks you to select the encoding. Choose "Unicode 5.1 (Little-Endian)." You want to make the "Preview" look right.
Save your Inductel custom dictionary as type "Speller Custom Dictionary" overwriting the existing file.
Close the file.
Verify that your new speller is working. Open a blank Word document. Key in some test words.
